Yarn of the Month
This fabulous cotton double knitting yarn for hand knit and crochet projects can be used to create designs for all the family from babies to adults and looks equally gorgeous in projects for the home. The yarn is made using mercerised cotton to create a subtle sheen and incredible stitch definition so it’s the perfect yarn for lace knitting, cables and crochet work. This Cotton DK is a classic double knitting yarn that will knit to all Sirdar’s DK designs and is machine washable.

Design Your Own Cushion with Debbie Abrahams
Thursday 15th May
We are huge fans of Debbie Abrahams at AGY with several of us being members of the Mystery Cushion and Mystery Blanket Clubs.
The Mystery Blanket club is a unique knitting experience which invites knitters from all over the world to join. Over ten months, subscribers receive patterns and materials to knit individual squares which join together to make an exquisite blanket. The theme of the project is kept secret, only to be discovered as the squares are completed and the blanket takes shape.
Through the club, techniques have been mastered and many happy hours of knitting have been had. Each design is exclusive and will not be published in any other format when the club has closed. This is a one-off project that is a must-have for knitters of all abilities!
There are currently 9 of us working on the 2014 blanket and thoroughly enjoying it.
Debbie is returning this year to deliver
'Design Your Own Cushion' workshop.
This course is suitable for knitters who can already knit and follow a basic knitting pattern. During this workshop you will be given the opportunity to create your own cushion-cover design, using patterns from Kaleidoscope, Debbie's latest book, and/or your own patterns. You will be guided through the whole design process and shown how to plan out your design, work out your stitches and rows and graph up your design. You are asked to bring a selection of DK weight yarns with you for your own project.
