For the foreseeable future, shopping at A Good Yarn will be a vastly different experience. We have a duty to keep our customers and our team safe and have put in measures to enable this.
The measures we have implemented will be constantly under review, we appreciate your understanding as the situation develops and if we must make further changes. We, also, appreciate constructive feedback if you feel there are ways we can do things differently.
The first change we have made is to our opening hours. We have reduced the number of days open and the hours on the days which we are open. This will enable us to clean the shop thoroughly at the end of the day. On the days we are closed, we will be preparing orders and putting videos together to show you some of the products you are not currently able to browse. Also, for the time being, it will just be me in the shop, so I need to keep things manageable.
Next, there will be only 1 customer in the shop at a time. This allows space for us to move around and serve you without encroaching on the 2m distance. On coming into the shop, please sanitise your hands at the dispenser provided. You will need to wait on the mat while you are served. Once you have decided on your purchases, you will move over to the till to pay. There is a perspex screen on the counter because of the smaller distance between us. Please use contactless or card payments, whenever possible to avoid the unnecessary handling of cash. The card machine will be sanitised before every use. If you need to wait outside to come into the shop, please queue alongside the window on the Yarra Road side of the shop.
We can no longer take back yarn or other purchases unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
We offer a lay-by service for 6 weeks, this allows you to spread your payment and to be sure about the amount of yarn required. This period cannot be extended and at the end of 6 weeks the yarn will be returned into stock.
